Job Title:                 Teller I

Department:          Retail Banking

Reports To:             Branch Manager

FLSA Status:           Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

Provides a Way Over Wonderful (WOW) customer experience by assisting customers with all their banking needs.  This will include engaging customers in conversations that will build lasting relationships, helping them meet their financial goals by recommending products suited to needs.    

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Complete customer transactions quickly and efficiently according to policy and procedure, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
  • Possess superior knowledge of bank products.
  • Be familiar with bank’s website in order to offer and explain to customers the benefits of internet and mobile banking.
  • Identify opportunities to refer customers to other areas of bank as appropriate.
  • Possess an understanding of account fraud; how and where to refer customers for assistance.
  • Complete compliance courses as scheduled.
  • Must possess ability to work with others in a team environment and assist with any and all duties as necessary.
  • Requires regular attendance and punctuality.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively with customers and/or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

SUMMARY
Responsible for review, processing and reconciliations of new and closed deposit accounts, processing of unposted items, processing of NSF items as well as other assigned duties.

ESENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Unposted Item Processing
    2. NSF processing
    3. Process Incoming Returns from Fed
    4. Prepare items for Return to Federal Reserve
    5. Review Dormant Account Activity on Recently Activated Accounts
    6. Query- DDA History for Business Scanner Deposits
    7. Query – EZ ATM Deposits
    8. Query- Remote Deposits
    9. Query – Check for Sweep Fee and Overdraft Fee on Same Day
    10. Query – Sweep Transfer
    11. Coordinate with Clerk II to Print EIP Notices and IRD’s
    12. Monthly Cash Items Reconcilements
    13. Daily GL review for Unposted, Settlement and EIP
    14. Savings Bond Reconcilement (Weekly, usually on Tuesday)
    15. Backup for Yellow Hammer Fraud detective
    16. Backup for ARP
    17. Other assigned duties

Must be able to accept direction and constructive criticism from supervisors.
